VISITORS (NEW TO CHRISTIANITY)

Q: I Don't Understand The Bible, How Do I Learn It?
A: It takes time to learn the Bible, but there are a few things you can do to get started; 1) Always pray and ask God to help you see the truth before reading; 2) Get a concordance to help you know the meaning of certain words; 3) Attend a church that preaches the complete truth.

Q: Do I have To Go To A Church To Be Saved?
A: Yes... Only obeying the gospel plan of salvation can save you. But, attending church is necessary in order to learn about God and live right so you can stay saved. (Heb 10:25)

SALVATION

Q: What Does It Mean To Be "Born Again?"
A: Jesus said in John 3:5 that for someone to enter the Kingdom of Heaven they MUST be born or WATER and of the SPIRIT. In scripture "water" refers to water baptism and "Spirit" refers to the baptism (or infilling) of the Holy Ghost. Read "The Born Again Experience"

Q: Where in the Bible is "tongues" the evidence that someone got the Holy Ghost?
A: In Mark 16:17, Jesus said these "signs" will follow a believer. And the word "signs" means, an indication, evidence or miracle. And in Acts 2:1-4, all the believers got the Holy Ghost speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance.

Q: Do I have to speak in tongues?
A: The scriptures plainly speak of tongues as being the "evidence" that you recieved the Holy Ghost. Jesus plainly said, when you believe, one of the signs that will follow is that you will speak with new tongues. (Mark 16:16-17)

Q: I Believe On The Lord, Isn't That enough To Be Saved?
A: No... Believing on the Lord is just the beginning. Jesus also taught repentance, water baptism and the baptism of the holy ghost as part of salvation. Read "The Born Again Experience"

Q: Where in the Bible does it say to baptize in Jesus name?
A: There are several scriptures. Nowhere was father, son, Holy Ghost ever used in baptism. Read these... Mat 28:19, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:16, Acts 10:48, Acts 19:5.

Q: Is baptism essential for us to be saved?
A: Yes! If Jesus stressed it then we must obey it. Mark 16:16, 1 Pet 3:20

Q: Is there any scripture for sprinkling or infant baptisms?
A: NO! There is nowhere in the Bible of anybody being sprinkled or any baby being baptized. Jesus himself was baptized at thirty years old and he came up out of the water.

Q: Many baptize in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost. Is this the right way?
A: NO! Father, Son, Holy Ghost are titles, not a NAME. This is a command, not a phrase to pronounce over someone in baptism. The command is to baptize IN THE NAME...A man may sign a check, Father, Son, Husband, but will it be cashed?, NO! He must sign his NAME! Baptism is in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST.

Q: What is the name of the Father?
A: John 5:43 says Jesus.

Q: What is the NAME of the Son?
A: Of course JESUS.

Q: What is the NAME of the Holy Ghost?
A: John 14:26 says Jesus.

Q: What if I have not been baptized correctly? Can I be rebaptized?
A: YES! You can be rebaptized if you were not baptized right. Acts 19:2

Q: Do I have to have the Holy Ghost to go to heaven?
A: Yes! It is the Holy Ghost in us that sanctifies us and cleanses us. It will also raise you up on resurrection day. Rom 8:9, Rom 8:11

GODHEAD

Q: Does the Bible say anything about a Trinity (3 persons)?
A: NO! The Bible clearly states that there is one God. Deu 6:4, Eph 4:4, John 10:30

Q: When Phillip asked Jesus to show him the Father. What was Jesus' reply?
A: Jesus in this scripture says that he is the Father. John 14:7

Q: Who was "The Word" that the disciple John was talking about in his gospel. (John 1)?
A: The Word is God. And the Word (God) was made flesh. That was Jesus! God made himself a flesh (Son), and dwelt among us. John 1:1, 14

Q: Does it say plainly anywhere in the Bible that Jesus was God revealed in flesh?
A: Yes. In these two scriptures. 2 Cor 5:19, 1 Tim 3:16

MORAL ISSUES

Q: Is abortion really wrong?
A: Yes! The Lord doesn't like murder! And by the way, 99% of all abortions happen when the mother is not in danger during her delivery. They just don't want the child.

Q: What about homosexuality?
A: God said in his word that it is an abomination, which means he hates it. He destroyed a whole city because of it. God does love the person, but not his sin.

Q: Is Suicide alright with God?
A: Suicide is the "murding" of one’s self. Since murder is sin, it is wrong. If someone kills themselves, they cannot repent of the sin of murder they committed on themselves.

Q: Is "Assisted Suicide" alright with God?
A: No, murder is against God's law. Just because someone is "showing mercy" by ending someone’s life of suffering doesn't give that physician a right to take a life. Only God has a right to allow a person to pass away.

Q: Is pre-marital sex alright?
A: Of course not! The scipture calls it fornication, which is a sin. Even society says that pre-marital sex breaks a trust between couples and that something is lost in the relationship.

HABITUAL ISSUES

Q: Are drugs and alcohol a sin?
A: The Bible makes it clear that we are the temple of the Holy Ghost and we are not to allow unclean things in our life. Self-control is also taught and drunkenness is a lack of self-control, which is sin. Substance abuse is usually practiced to cover sin as well.

Q: I can't find anything in the Bible about cigarettes, is it wrong?
A: The same rule applies to cigarettes as does drugs and alcohol. We should not be in bondage to any substance, it's unclean to our body.
